Clear tape applied over the terminals of a 9V battery Safety: cover the terminals. Always tape or cover battery terminals before placing batteries in the box, to prevent short circuits in transit, which can cause heat build-up. Australian Dangerous Goods rules and battery manufacturers’ safety data sheets require terminal protection; this applies to all batteries, and to 9V batteries in particular. Replacement Fire-Safety Liner

Reusable woven-fibreglass liner with rubber exterior: the durable component of the certified pack. Pairs only with the matched-size carton (a non-matching pair is not a certified package).
